In Islam, respect for the environment and nature is of great importance. In many verses in the Holy Quran and in many Hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad, it is emphasized that nature should be protected and the environment should not be polluted.
"If a Muslim plants a tree or sows a crop and man, animal or bird eats from it, it is charity for that person until the Day of Judgment."(Muslim, Musakat, 10)
